I am enchanted by the rhythms, sensuality, patterns and color of nature and urban life. As an experimental painter and printmaker, I distil and transform those feelings into layers of new visual constructs. My background in science and dance brings both order and fluidity to my work.
I was introduced to the visual arts in grade school and I started painting at age 10. I was later accepted to the prestigious New York High School of Music and Art and studied drawing, painting and design and later on continued my studies at Cooper Union Art School.
Since I was interested in science as well as art and I decided to study chemistry which had more employment potential and I received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Michigan. I participated in research projects at many institutes including the National Institutes of Health, Columbia University Medical Center, Space Science in Berkeley and UCSF Medical Center.
In 1992 I left science and became a full time practicing and exhibiting painter and printmaker.
